Today’s gratitude is about “one good thing which happened today”. Funny enough, many good things happened today. So, I will pick the one good thing which means the most to me.

My parents in Salzburg, Austria some time in the 1960s

Today is my Dad’s birthday and my Dad is like a cat with nine lives!!!! He is so lucky to be alive today, but luck has nothing to do with it. He is blessed. He has been at death’s door multiple times in the last twenty years.

My Dad just may be a cat. No wonder why I love him so much…

In 2016 my Dad had valve replacement surgery on his heart and a month later after he was released from hospital he had a heart blockage and flat lined three times. It is truly a miracle that he is with us here today. I requested a lot of prayer that day and I wasn’t expecting to see him again. He now has a heart pacer to beat his heart and he is doing very well for 84 years.

My Dad when he was a young cadet.

So, the best thing that happened to me today was being able to wish my Dad a happy birthday. He turned 84 today and I am so absolutely grateful to still have him today.

A selfie of me and my Dad last year after my wedding; I am so grateful he was able to attend and be there on my special day
Amen x

What is one good thing which happened to you today? Have you noticed most of these gratitude blogs have been about things which you cannot purchase in a store? They are either about people or experiences. Think about it…
