A memory which makes me smile is the theme for today’s gratitude…

Many years ago when I was a young precocious tween I was sitting in the back seat of a car on a hot summer day, with my Grandmother sitting in the back with me. There were three of us in the back seat and of course being the youngest kid of the bunch I was stuck in the center.

I think one of my brothers did something which annoyed me and I dropped the “F bomb” and my Grandma went wild on me! She started hitting me with her weak arms and yelling at me which just made me laugh. Her reaction was hilarious to me.

My Grandmother absolutely hated swearing of any kind, but she detested the four letter word which starts with an “F”. My Mom was driving and I think she was laughing too which made my Grandma all the more angry.

I know this isn’t your typical memory which makes you smile, but to this day it still cracks me up. I am grateful for the memories of youth and my grandparents.

What is a memory which makes you smile?
