Life Waits for No One

So, when are you going to decide to get in shape, lose that weight, finish that book, paint your toe nails and make time for you? When is the time going to right for you to pursue looking after you? When is the time going to be right to take that leap of faith in you?

Never.  There is never going to be a perfect time to start a diet, to take up running, to start writing a book, to have a baby or to do anything outside of your comfort zone. Now is good a time as any future projected date.

The thing is life waits for no one.  All we have is now and the older I get the more clear it becomes to me. Life doesn’t care if you have to work 14 hours a day, life doesn’t care if your husband cheats on you, if a family member becomes ill, if a loved one dies – life doesn’t give a crap.  Life just goes on.  With or without life goes on…

Tonight I went for a run.  I got home from a long day at work at 7pm and I wanted to do was flop on the couch and watch SLICE tv.  Order a pizza and have a beer. But lately I hate my body, I hate what it has become, I hate how all the weight is gathering around my center part and I made the decision to go for a run.  Why? Because I will continue to be miserable with the way I look and feel unless something changes.  Life doesn’t care that I am tired, life doesn’t care I need a break.  I made the time to bring a bit of balance in my life.

So, go ahead life. Sling your fecal matter at me! I am not going to allow my health to suffer anymore. I may have to work over time all the time , but I can choose to make time for exercise and I can choose to eat nutritious foods.

You have to choose you!  As no one else can make that choice but you & as the L’Oreal advertisements say “you’re worth it!”.
