Yesterday’s give away haul were three tins of fancy feast pate which my cats refuse to eat because they are spoiled rotten, two old magazines which were taking up space and a music box in the shape of the famous Blood of Christ Basilica from Saint Petersburg, Russia (as pretty and colorful as it is – it was collecting dust).
Old magazines can accrue rapidly on side tables and bedsides. I try my best not to keep reading material if I have read through it and haven’t formed some sort of bond or attachment to it. Books are my greatest weakness as I have many books I have read and cannot bare to give away because of the joy or help they once gave me. I now ask myself if I will read this again some day and when the answer is no, I give it away.
I gave the catfood to a lady from work who has rescues and a lot of strays who visit her home. I know it will go to good use.
The music box will go to good will as someone is really going to enjoy this treasure and put it on display as it should be.
Off to the beach shortly for some sunshine, possibly a dip in the frigid cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean and lots of reading.
