Another decluttering tip is to not allow guilt to rule you. What do I mean?  Let me give you an example, I love cats and I have two of them who are the most adorable lovable pair of furbabies.

Meet Gershwin and Suki below:

I love my kitties, but that does not mean I love all cat paraphernalia.  Friends and family just assume I want my apartment decorated with all things meow related. I have coasters, tea towels, stuffed animals, treat containers, framed pictures, books, figurines, salt & pepper shakers, and you get the idea.  I have kept all this heinous kitty stuff because I feel guilty to give these “gifts” away, but I don’t enjoy them. In fact they stress me out as to where to place them, or store them for that matter.  So, no more guilt; I will keep some of my kitty stuff, but a lot of it needs to go.

There is no sense in keeping a gift out of guilt. Give it away, or sell it and buy yourself something you want or can use.  Better yet, use the money to put away for an exotic trip or a simple road trip.

I love my kitties, but no more cat stuff PLEASE!!!!

Day 4:

A pair of paisley pants I never wear, a grumpy cat stuffie, another stuffed animal cat and a pair of slippers.  Adios useless stuff!

Till tomorrow!
