Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar, Palm Springs

Enjoying an Egg Nog Martini

I rarely review bars or restaurants, but after experiencing Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar in Palm Springs, California and having visited there three times for happy hour (3pm to 6pm) as the food and drinks were consistently excellent, I feel it is my duty to let the world know this is a must go spot.

It should be mentioned we tried some other spots which left us feeling disappointed and financially fleeced. The price of the drinks and food were more than reasonable for consistent high quality.

My husband loves Tommy Bahama clothing and we did do some shopping at the store too. I never checked out the women’s wear before, but Brian bought me a couple of items which I adore.

Brian with his Pina Colada during happy hour at the Marlin Bar and wearing a pull over I bought him from the Palm Springs store.

Initially the idea of eating at a clothing store/bar/restaurant held little appeal to me. I thought the food would be mediocre at best and maybe they would have some interesting drinks, but everything we tried, we loved.

Beer and burgs; cheese burger sliders & Nashville hot chicken sliders. Small scrumptious delights!

I didn’t take any photos of our absolute favorite menu item which was a steak flatbread, but we had a happy accident where they ran out of steak so we had blackened chicken instead and it was to die for.

A warm brownie with some sort of caramel concoction with a coconut crusted vanilla ice cream. Mouth watering and craving now – insert sad face.

The decor was nice too with heat lamps to keep you warm as the evenings cool down in Palm Springs.

The Marlin Bar bar…
Cute tiki feel to the bar.
Another day, another happy hour; Brian ordered a Mai Tai and I ordered an Aperol Spritz.
Nothing quite as refreshing as an Aperol Spritz.
We loved the Nashville hot chicken sliders so much, we ordered them again along with roasted red pepper salsa, guacamole and chips.
Steak tacos? Yes please!
We like our beers.

In conclusion, Tommy Bahama designs great casual quality clothes and who knew they have some fantastic mixology happening at their Marlin Bar and delicious food which is shareable. Everything we ordered we were able to split between us. The food was consistently good. Not once were we disappointed with what we ordered. Also, it should be mentioned the customer service both in the store and at the bar was beyond our expectations. Friendly, accommodating staff who welcomed us back on each return.

Highly recommend visiting this spot if you come to Palm Springs.

Peace and Love – Rachel
